AHH! I've gotten behind!!

The girls after homecoming pep rally =)

Ian. There was a picture where I was taller but they made me use this one instead lol

Our proud band supporters

awww how pretty

warm up

So... theres a lot thats been going on lately. Lemme give you the run down =) so last week ish (i think) was homecoming. We had dress up days and all kinds of fun stuff but due to some technical difficluties, we will have to wait til a later day to to view pictures. It was super fun even though we lost our game but I will attempt again to post some pictures. BUT!!! Who really cares about homecoming when we have something much bigger on our hands? Like the CHS marching band going to STATE!!!! Yeah, go ahead and get excited. We all are. You can hop on that band wagon. Get it?? BAND wagon?? Yeah ok... so anyways... last Wednesday we competed at region and received a 1 (best you can get) so that advanced us to area, which we competed at last Saturday. We made it to finals and I got the inside scoop on the scores so I will fill you in if you promise to keep it a secret. There were 5 judges. The scoring works like this: Each judge will rank all the bands, like 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so forth. Then they will add up the rankings. So we will use.. lets say... Queen City for example. Out of 20 bands, one judge gave them 18th place, one 19th, place and the other 3 judges gave them 20th place. Then they would have a score of 97. Poor Queen City. bwahaha. So for our competition, the best score a band could receive was a 5. Clifton got a 5 at both prelims and finals. The next closest band had a 21. Meaning, there wasn't a band there that could touch us. Its a great feeling to have. So since we won area, us and 2 other bands advanced to state which will take place a week from today. We are the first band to march at 12:45 and we plan to set the standard for every other 2A band there. If we advance to finals, we will perform sometime after 6. Obviously the competition at state will be much different than at area but I am so excited and can barely wait for this weekend to get here. I think we have a shot at the state title this year which would be a first for Clifton history and I couldn't be more pumped. Hope to see your smiling faces there! Ill try to give more updates, and Ill try to shorten them to. I cant help that im longwinded. Its a Blanton thing, right?? =)

The Drowsy Chaperone

I most likely spelled that wrong but o well. So....last night was quite a night. Mom, Dad, and Leah came to Waco to go see the Baylor performance of "The Drowsy Chaperone" with me which I have to see for my theatre class. It was a great play (actually it was a musical and EVERYONE liked it....including dad) and i loved being with my family. Although there were a few mishaps, it was a great evening. Sorry there are no pictures but just know it was a great and fabulous night =)

Leah comes to Baylor....for the weekend =)

This past weekend Leah came to stay with me here at Baylor. We went to the Baylor game (which we completely dominated in!) and just spent some quality time together that was definately needed. She was able to come to church with me on Sunday and I was so glad to get to be in church with her again! Here are a few pictures to show how the weekend went. The sad faces are the pictures we took when the other team scored...the happy ones are when we scored and there are more of those =) Thank you so much for staying with me Leah! I love you!

Mail Time!

Look Mommy, Sam and I got something in the mail today!

It says it is from Aunt Lizzie! Let's open it!

Almost there.... I like these stickers!

Aww. Finally! Ooooo. It is pretty.

A get well soon card! Wow, with a dog on the front too! I love dogs!

Look Sam! See what Aunt Lizzie said! This is So cool!

(Sam loved the card too :)

Mommy, can I call Aunt Lizzie and tell her Thank You!?

Here Brother. Say Hi!

HANNAH! What a sweet sister you are to send my kiddos a Get Well Soon card! You are too sweet. We all love you SO much! This past week was really rough on me and the kids. They are both not 100% but atleast they are sleeping through the night now! We are just back down to really runny noses and a cough for both of them. We can't wait to see you in a few weeks, then we can all give you a big hug for our sweet cards. Thanks again!
-Hope you are feeling better too Sarah!

Cezar Chavez Middle School

Today I went to CCMS for the first time and got to see where I will be tutoring for the next few months. I did not get to work with my student today (who for safety reasons I will not be able to mention her name) but will have the opportunity to meet her on Wednesday. The school was extremely overwhelming seeing that it was two stories and way bigger than my high school! But, putting the fear aside, I am extremely excited to start working there! I will do my best to keep posted on the school and what goes on but the amount of pictures will be slim due to the fact that we can't release printed pictures of the students we work with.

Flat Brenna

After the football game, Katy and I decided to go to the movies with Cody. However, since Brenna's parents were still here, she couldnt go. So, our solution...Flat Brenna =) heres the story of our Flat Brenna:
On the way to the movies
Buckle up! Safety first
O NO!!! She fell....
Even Cody was excited that Brenna could make it
Standing in line for tickets
Brenna and the ticketman
Thanks Brenna for holding our tickets

The Three amigos!

Brenna wanted some candy =)
The movies fixing to start!
She was thirsty =)
Aren't these chairs comfy??

We told Brenna once we got back about her being with us....she wasnt sure whether to be honored or slighty creeped out. I guess this just goes to show you that college kids are not any more mature than second graders.....but at least we had fun =)

First Baylor Home Game

Our sign for Brenna-she bleeds green and gold =)
Katy and I at the game
YAY Brenna!!
Before the game started-The terrific three!!
The Six of us at the game

This past Saturday was the first home Baylor football game! It was such a blast to be a part of the Baylor line and run out on the field with over 2000 other freshman. Although the game did not end up with the score we would have preferred, the game was still fun and i enjoyed my time with my friends. I realize that it has been awhile since I last posted and to be quite honest, it will most likely be awhile before I post again due to my work load for the week. However, things are going well and I am absolutely loving Baylor and being a part of such a great University.

Wreck 'Em Tech =)

The Red Raider =)
The front of the campus

The recital hall. HArd to see in this picture but it is absolutely breathtaking

Some of the practice rooms

Every one of them is equipped with a piano, chair, music stand, and a digital metronome. =)

The Goin Band's lockers =)

A band hall where a jazz band was rehearsing

A classroom

and another

The campus was absolutely gorgeous

Flags =)

I saw a question mark, and thought it was funny =)

Yes, there were fountains in the library. The 3rd largest library in Texas. Well just this library, doesn't include the library that every department in the University has. This is just the general one. =)

Lots of art on the campus. They even have an art trail that you can walk to see a lot of this art =)

I told you it was beautiful....

Their buildings have a lot of Spanish influence. Even the new buildings.

Front of the S.U.B.

The police escort that was leading the Goin Band from Raiderland out of town.

They had 7 charter buses =)

And a semi to carry some of their stuff. Can you even imagine??

Where we stayed!! It was soooo much fun!

They had a caboose in the backyard!

Me and my love =)

An old fashioned coke machine that mommy enjoyed a cream soda out of =)

We stayed in the alumniroom. Wonder why...

The tub was so cute!!

EVERYTHING was Red Raider =) so fun!

SOOO many things to tell you. Ok, so I went to Tech this weekend with my mom, obviously =) So just to narrow it down, ill tell you the highlights of the trip. First of all, I visited the Schools of Business and Music. In business, as weird as it sounds, I was kinda diggin the accounting program. I know I know I know what your thinkin. But just hear me out. I could get a job almost anywhere, whether I wanted to stay close to home or if I want to do some traveling, I would get to do math which I love, plus in Tech's program, they have a plan that would take 5 years to finish but once you graduate, you would have your Bachelors AND Masters in accounting. Kind of impressive =) However the music program is just as impressive. Most people know how amazing their music is anyways but they might not know some of the statistics. Their music education program OR their music education/performance program has a 100% job placement for their graduates. Thats comforting. Some days I feel like I should take the practical route of accounting or something in business, but my heart always leads me back to music. I don't know what God has planned for me, but I have a feeling that if I end up at Tech that He would definately use me there. Yes, the rumors are true, I had a meltdown Thursday night when we got there. The town/campus overwhelmed me and the tears just were rolling down my face and my mom could barely get me to say 10 words. Fortunately, after my tour I was a little bit more confident. Lubbock would be a completely different thing for me, but who knows? Maybe thats just what I need. Ill try to post some more sometime. Hope I answered some questions. Let me know if you have some =)
